There is a right and wrong way to recycle. Most people who “live green” recycle and know that this leads to many financial, environmental and social benefits, but only a small part is aware of how to do it properly. Incorrect recycling can result in impurities which can degrade the quality of the recycled material. The good news is that proper recycling does not require much effort. Here are some tips:

1. Remove the disposable bottle caps

They can not be recycled. When they come into the waste processing plant, bottles that still have caps are thrown away instead of being recycled because the workers would lose too much time in removing the caps.

2.  Grease and food residue should be kept out of the binhow to recycle your home waste

This applies to pizza boxes, napkins, cardboard dishes, and everything you’ve used to absorb spilled liquid (other than water). Nutrients lead to unwanted impurities in the production of recycled materials, rendering them unsuitable for use. Instead of throwing the whole pizza box, remove the lid and all the unpolluted parts and give only them for recycling.

3. Wash everything

Recycling is more effective if items handed over are pre-washed, and thus you battle the trash can odors. Do not overdo it, just rinse the dishes and remove the paper labels from the glass or plastic bottles.

4. Do you homework

Check what type of plastic can recycle your local waste treatment plant. There are different types of plastic and not all of them can be recycled. Check the number in the recycling symbol on the product, and only deliver plastic that can be recycled.

5. Be careful with the paper

Paper that has passed through a shredder has a shorter length of paper fibers, which means that it can not be turn into quality recycled products. Do not render too brightly colored paper, as well as wax paper or cadaver, for recycling. The old notebooks or printer paper are most effectively recycled. Do not remove the transparent nylon “windows” of the envelopes, they are recyclable.
